The Seacoast Chapter of Harley Owners Group was established in 1985 with 8 founding members. Over the
years we have grown into a family of over 500 members. Most of the membership hails from the seacoast region of Southern
NH, Southern Maine and Northeastern Mass. We are a very diverse group of people in various jobs and stages of life. Our main goal is to have
"RIDE & HAVE FUN". We are a very active chapter in and around the community.
We are very fortunate that our chapter has the
continuing support and generosity of Seacoast Harley-Davidson. The
dealership goes above and beyond for us in many ways - not the least of
which is the Appreciation Picnic they provide every year for our membership.
If you think you might be interested in becoming a member we would love to have you.

Invited
to
the
2nd
Annual North East State Rally Tour
August
5-8, 2009
Groton
CT; North Hampton NH & Sturbridge, MA
We are in the final
stretch of the preparation and planning for the North East State Rally Tour and
we are so excited to host you at this year’s great event.
In this final chapter we will highlight the activities and events we have
planned for you at the rally as well as the attractions of the local area.
For those not
familiar with the area, the Sturbridge area of Central Massachusetts and the
North East State Rally Tour invite you to step back and relax.
This area is indicative of Quintessential
New England, where picturesque town
commons, splendid Colonial, Federal and Victorian homes, a variety of quaint
shops and some of the most spectacular
country roads await you. We’ll
get to the riding and the rally experience in a minute.
We hope that either
you find time during the rally or you extend your stay to enjoy one of the areas
most popular, must experience attractions, Old
Sturbridge Village. It is a
true living museum featuring the history, homes, crafts, farms and authentic
1830s working economy of the time. Old
Sturbridge Village is a very popular field trip for local schools systems,
adults and children alike will enjoy the history lesson.
Throughout the
Sturbridge Area and surrounding towns you’ll discover shops replicating the
fine handcraftsmanship of the 1800’s, as well as antique dealers.
It is a wonderful place meant for meandering, with wonderful scenery at every turn, historic taverns, country
inns and fine New England eateries.
The rally experience
is automatically enhanced just by having it in the Sturbridge area; however we
do have several exciting activities and events planned for you during the rally.
Highlighting a few:
1.
As you know, the North East State Rally Tour is a blending of three state
rallies (CT, MA/RI and NH/VT) into one, Wednesday’s kick-off events are part
of the great story of this rally format and are designed for the non-hosting
state rally to showcase their area. There
are two great kick-off events planned
for you this year, one in NH at
Seacoast Harley Davidson in North Hampton and the other in CT at the Elks Lodge
in Groton. Both these events offer
great riding and activities geared to provide a unique experience of the area.
Each
kick-off event will have their own “ABC’s of Touring” banner, but
remember, the banners will only be displayed at their respective sites.
2.
Thursday’s Activities include starting your rally experience with the dealer ride-in parade, staging out of Sheldon’s Harley Davidson in
Auburn Ma.; prior to the Opening
Ceremonies a Fashion Show
highlighting the latest Harley Davidson motor clothes, sponsored by Kelly’s
Harley Davidson of Billerica, Ma
3.
Friday’s Activities include; Ride-in
Bike Show and Breakfast at Old Sturbridge Village (Breakfast must be
purchased prior to rally and admission to OSV is not required); Harley Davidson 2010 Demo Fleet which will allow you to test drive a
2010 motorcycle
4.
Saturday’s Activities include; Bike
Games, and the Parade of Lights
(which will be police escorted and travel through several New England towns in
the area)
5.
Traditional Rally Activities offered again this year include; a Vendor Mall, Biker Bingo,
Scavenger Hunt, Dinner Buffet (advance purchase prior to rally required) and nightly
entertainment and Closing Ceremonies
6.
Weekend long activities; Great
Riding, Spectacular Roads, North East State Rally Passport and Stamp Tour and some special
surprises in the works.
We hope that for
those already registered we have re-ignited your excitement for this rally and
for those not yet registered we hope that based on all that we have outlined
here and in the past articles that you will put down your newsletter and go to
the website, www.maristatehogrally.com
and register. Pre-registration
deadline is Friday June 19, attached for your convenience is the mail in
registration form.
Also, your rally
experience will be greatly enhanced if you volunteer – it is a great way to
get involved and meet new people. Please
let us know if you are interested and when you would like to volunteer.
Please
think about extending your stay to thoroughly enjoy this charming,
quintessential New England area– you won’t be disappointed.
We
look forward to seeing you in August.
